Lipoedema is a chronic medical condition that primarily affects women. Typically there is a build-up of abnormal adipose (fat) tissue in the legs. It may also involve the arms and or lower trunk. It is a common but under diagnosed condition. It may cause pain, tenderness, swelling and easy bruising.
